Tales of Poe: Student Art Display

The 6th season of our Edgar Allan Poe performance series was a wonderful success!  Thank you to all of the student groups that attended the matinee show “Tales of Poe” and to all of our evening attendees of the sold out series “An Evening with Poe”.  Please check back next fall when the series will return for its seventh run.

In addition we’d like to thank all of the teachers and students involved in the creation of our Poe-Inspired Student Art Display which hung in the museum’s Great Hall during the run of the series. The display was created through a partnership between the museum’s Education Department and four local schools: DeSales High School, duPont Manual High School, Pleasure Ridge Park High School and Presentation Academy.

Submissions were juried by staff from the Frazier History Museum, Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts, Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft and Speed Art Museum.  Congratulations to Kenna Carmen (1st place) , Kaylee Phillips (2nd place), and Johanna Murray (3rd place)  from duPont Manual HS for their top scoring pieces.  Click on the photos below to see more detail about each.
