Greatest Hits: August 7-11
It’s hard to say goodbye to summer, but we’ll make it easier and a lot more fun this week with a sampler of our favorite activities from the past. We’ll relive some Jedi Magic, Lewis and Clark adventure, re-build the Brooklyn Bridge and more!
Chicks Rule: June 12-16
Spend the week discovering HERstory: history from a girl’s point of view! We’ll celebrate clever queens, pretty princesses, and daring damsels from ancient to modern times by exploring the arts, fashions, struggles, and accomplishments of their lives. Special guest artists will lead campers in arts, crafts, and fashion activities.
From Page to Stage: June 19 - 23
Everyone loves to watch our actors bring history to life through drama. Now campers will have an all-access pass to learn just how they do it! The actors will explain how they choose characters, create a costume, research and write a script, and learn their lines. Each day campers will work with museum staff to develop their own short, history-themed play which will be performed for friends and family on Friday afternoon.
Silver Screen Superheroes & Civilians Too: June 26-30 AND July 10 - 14
Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6
Calling anyone from an alternate universe! Every summer is loaded with blockbuster movies and superheroes, so it should come as no surprise that people have always loved a good hero or heroine story. This week we’ll find the balance between real world and fantasy as we meet Wizards, Jedis, Mutants and plenty of real people with amazing abilities.
Playing it Cool: July 17 - 21
Grades 1-3 (only a few spots left! please call for registration: (502) 753-5663)
Grades 4-6 (sold out!)
July is hot. Beat the sizzle by hanging out with with our picks for the 25 coolest people in history. We’ll learn the stories and try our hands at what made them so cool. Among other crazy things, we’ll make wax molds with Madame Tussaud, play music with Louis Armstrong, paint with Picasso, share jokes with Ben Franklin and, of course, work a little Hamilton magic into the week. It’ll be the most fun you can have with the past!
The Game is On!: July 24 - 28
Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6
May the odds be ever in your favor as you try your hand in a world of games. More than a great way to pass time, games are a great way to learn and understand the world. We’ll do just that as we bring in special guests to tackle everything from the Olympics to Minecraft, and playing cards to target practice.
