Thanks to the generosity and support of the Louisville Theatrical Association, the Frazier Museum is giving away Hamilton tickets as door prizes in an initiative called #Hamiltix502!
This page explains the details by answering some frequently asked questions.
When is this initiative?
Submissions will be accepted from Monday, May 6 through Friday, June 7 at 12:30 pm. The museum’s regular hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
Who is eligible to participate?
Any adult (age 18+) who is visiting the Frazier Museum.
How do I play?
Visit the museum any time during its hours of operation. Find the life-size cutout of Alexander Hamilton, which will be located somewhere in the museum’s galleries, and take a selfie with it. Post that selfie to Instagram, tag @frazierhistorymuseum in the image, and include the hashtag #Hamiltix502 in the caption. Show your post to the museum’s guest services staff at the admissions desk. The staff will give you a contact form. If you fill out the form and submit it before you leave the museum, a slip of paper with your name on it will be added to the pool of entries for the next drawing.
What if I don’t have a phone or an Instagram account?
No problem! Just let the guest services staff at the admissions desk know that you found the Hamilton cutout and tell them where you found it. In return, they will give you a contact form to fill out and submit.
When will the winners be announced?
The Frazier will conduct five weekly drawings: one on each Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock, beginning Friday, May 10 and ending Friday, June 7.
The Frazier will then have more drawings for visitors attending its June Second Saturday, a public event held at the museum on June 8, 11 am – 3 pm. Admission to Second Saturday is open to museum visitors only, but at no additional cost.
How will the winners be chosen?
During each of the five Friday drawings, two entries will be selected at random from the total pool of entries submitted since the previous drawing. (Note: once the two winning entries have been selected, all the remaining entries from that pool will be discarded and a new pool will begin.) Each Friday drawing will be broadcast by @fraziermuseum on Facebook Live.
Details concerning the drawings on Saturday, June 8 have not been disclosed.
What do I get if I win?
If your name is picked, you will receive two tickets to the Sunday, June 16 at 7:00 pm performance of Hamilton at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, 501 West Main Street. The performance, which has a run time of about 2 hours and 55 minutes (including intermission), will be held in Whitney Hall, The Kentucky Center’s multipurpose concert facility.
Are there any other rules?
Just a few!
o Open to museum visitors only.
o Limit one entry per paid admission to the museum.
o Limit one entry per day per free admission to the museum. (Note: since Frazier Museum Members get free admission to the museum, each Member will only be allowed to submit a maximum of one entry per day.)
o Tickets are all for the Sunday, June 16 at 7:00 pm performance and are non-transferrable.
o Must be able to pick up the tickets in person.
Is there any other Hamilton-related content coming to the Frazier?
In addition to #Hamiltix502, the Frazier will be hosting Hamilton-related programming and a small temporary exhibit in its 2 South wing. The exhibit will feature artifacts related to Alexander Hamilton, including George Washington’s flintlock rifle, a first edition copy of The Federalist Papers, and a rare original copy of Observations on Certain Documents, the famous 95-page pamphlet penned by Hamilton for which a song in the musical (“The Reynolds Pamphlet”) is named.
