Dorie Miller - In-Gallery Performance

While serving as a Mess Attendant aboard the USS West Virginia at Pearl Harbor in 1941, Doris Miller abruptly discovered that life in the Navy was more than just when the battleship was attacked by Japanese planes and submarines on December 7th. Based on several official accounts from junior officers, as well as newspaper articles written about Miller, this in-gallery interpretation imagines what Miller experienced on that fateful day. (performed in the exhibit: Personal Stories of Pearl Harbor)
