“Poe”tography Project 2019

The Frazier History Museum is thrilled to partner with Western Middle School for the Arts and the Louisville Photo Biennial for the 2019 "Poe”tography project. Students from Western Middle spent a week in July learning about the Frazier’s Edgar Allan Poe performance series, prepping for its 10th run this fall, and honing their photography skills with Photo Biennial staff and volunteers. Students read a graphic novel of Poe’s work, discussed Poe's life and times, viewed live performances of "The Raven" and “The Bells," learned photography techniques, and took photographs at school and Cave Hill Cemetery inspired by Poe's works. A selection of the photographs will be displayed at the Frazier History Museum this fall during the run of the “An Evening with Poe” performance series, and will serve as one of the Frazier's submission to this year's Louisville Photo Biennial.

Thank you to Fifth Third Bank for their generous support of this project.
