WINTER BREAK CAMPS 2018-19

We’re incredibly excited about winter break! We’re inviting children grade 1-6 to join a series of full-day programming.  Come for just one day, or join us for all six as we explore fun themes around cold weather, our Commonwealth, mysteries, music, art, the future, the past and much more!

Frazier Camps are diverse, creative and an exciting way to have fun learning!

All camp sessions are:

  • taught by professional educators

  • limited to 18 children

  • run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the option for extended care until 5:30 p.m.

Cold Case

Thursday, December 27

Who doesn’t love history’s Unsolved Mysteries?  From the lost city of Atlantis, to Amelia Earhart, to sea monsters and disappearing ships, we’ll look at some amazing cases from history that have gone ice cold.

The Little Ice Age

Friday, December 28

The crummy weather of the Little Ice Age helped give us some remarkable things. From the bicycle to Stradivarius’s violins, to the Great Plague and Frankenstein, we’ll melt through the ice and sink our teeth into some great stories.

The Birth of Cool

Monday, December 31

History is full of really cool people – from Picasso to Houdini to Hildegard von Bingen. We’ll learn about some of the coolest people who were stars in their day for acting, painting, tightrope walking, and even just being super-smart.

Back to the Future

Wednesday, January 2

A new year seems to always have us looking to the future, but we’re not alone. People from the past had ideas about the future too, and not all of them became reality.  We’ll have fun exploring where people got things right - and got things wrong – today.

Dashing through the Break

Thursday, January 3

We’re going big and moving fast today as we look at some of the record breaking performances, feats, and accomplishments that never fail to capture our imagination. The longest hair, the deepest trench, the tallest trees and smallest comic book are just the beginning!

Art’s Brightest Lights

Friday, January 4

The Kentucky Luminaries exhibit focuses on some of the Commonwealth’s finest artists, instrument builders, sculptors and more. We’ll spend the day learning why and how many of the practical objects were created, and make a few of our own.
