Free Family Day

Join us Saturday March 9 for a special Free Family Day funded in part by the Fund for the Arts. All ages will find something to ignite their imaginations, with puppet performances from Louisville's own award-winning Mary Shelley Electric Co., art activities, Cool KY Trivia, live music, a food truck serving coffee and lunch, and more. Admission is free and open to all from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.!

Event Schedule
10:30 – Pre-show sensory introduction (for any friends with sensory sensitivities)
11:00 – Puppet Variety Show
12:00 – 1:30 – Cool KY Trivia
1:00 – Puppet Variety Show
1:30 – 3:00 – Coffee with Casey
2:00 – Museum Tour (with family focus)

Art activity open from 10:30 – 2 p.m.

Con Aji y Café food truck will be open for lunch, selling coffee, drinks, empanadas, arepas, and more Colombian cuisine.

Featured activities include:

  • Cool Kentucky Trivia, 12–1:30 p.m. Join membership manager Amanda Egan for a series of trivia questions with the theme of: Artistic Kentucky! Pop in, open house style, to learn about the meaning and perks of membership in a fun new way as we celebrate our 20th anniversary with $20 Individual memberships. Invite your friends to trivia, become a member, and enjoy your first member exclusive program, Coffee with Casey, immediately following.

  • Coffee with Casey*, 1:30 p.m. Calling all counties! Come on in to hear senior director of engagement Casey Harden discuss our newest exhibit, 120: Cool KY Counties. Experience each of Kentucky’s 120 counties in a unique and interactive way! You’ll learn about the impact within the museum and throughout the Commonwealth; why it is important for us and for you with added sneak peaks of future phases! Doors open at 1:30 p.m., coffee and other light refreshments will be served, and the program begins at 2.
