FREE Family Day

Join us on Saturday Sept 14 for a Community & Family Day! Families who mention Family Day are invited to enjoy free admission to the museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can explore the galleries, take part in family-friendly art activities, and talk to local authors and illustrators about their published children’s books. Check the event schedule below to see which storyteller presentations you want to catch! Age recommendations are listed, but folks of all ages are welcome.

11:00 – activity stations open throughout the museum; book shop opens in the Great Hall
11:00Brittany J. Thurman presentation (story time and activity for ages 4-8)
11:30MacKenzie Haley presentation (reading and activity for ages 3-8)
12-12:30 – Picnic in the Gateway Garden! (BYO lunch, or purchase from Three Daughters Taco Truck)
12:30 Ballet Folklorico Artemex dance performance
1:00 Deedee Cummings presentation (reading and discussion for ages 6-11)
1:30Mick Sullivan presentation (for ages 7-12)
2:00 – close activity stations; final book sales and signing
Museum remains open until 5:00 p.m.

Other guests include Tenesha Marshall Creations, The Happy Birthday Circle, and Three Daughters Taco Truck.
