This small but mighty two-room exhibit focuses on the history of media in Louisville and its impact on our lives. During a guided tour students will learn how media changed and transformed over the years, from Louisville’s first newspaper, the Louisville Public Advertiser, established in 1819, through the new digital media that encompasses our lives today. We’ll cover major headlines from Louisville history, such as Bloody Monday in 1855, the 1937 Flood, the 1974 Tornado, and the 2020 protests, and shows how news coverage of major events has evolved over time.
Students will enjoy a welcome by a museum educator, an interactive guided tour of the Flashback exhibition, time to explore other Frazier exhibits, and the opportunity to meet and chat with one of the award winning and highly respected former media personalities that now help guide the Frazier, Rachel Platt or Andy Treinen.
