Directions and Parking Information
The Frazier History Museum is conveniently located at the corner of Ninth and Main Streets on Museum Row in the historic West Main District of downtown Louisville. Our street address is 829 W. Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
We are conveniently accessed from I-64, I-65, and I-71. We are also easily accessible via TARC bus and the Main/Market Trolley. Visit the Transit Authority of River City for information on routes and schedules.
Directions from the North, South, or East
If traveling on I-65 or I-71, take I-64 West as you come into downtown Louisville. (If you’re already traveling west on I-64, stay on it as you come into downtown Louisville.) Get into the second lane from the right and take the Third Street/River Road (#5B) exit. This exit has two lanes and a traffic light at the bottom. Remain in the left lane of this exit and proceed straight at the light. Turn right onto Main Street. The Frazier History Museum is on the right (north) side of the street, situated between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
Directions from the West
If traveling on I-64 East, take the Ninth Street (#4) exit. Get into the left lane, then turn left onto Market Street. Turn left onto Eighth Street, then left again onto Main Street. The Frazier History Museum is on the right (north) side of the street, situated between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
Parking
The Frazier History Museum has several nearby parking options. The parking lot adjacent to the museum on Ninth Street is $10 for the whole day ($5 for members). There are also parking meters near the museum’s main entrance and a parking garage nearby on Eighth Street.
Bus Parking
The Frazier History Museum allows easy drop-off at the front of our building. Convenient, free parking for school and motor coach buses is available adjacent to the museum on Ninth Street.

Tickets & Hours
What are the hours of the Frazier History Museum?
General hours are Monday–Saturday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Check here for a listing of our hours and holiday hours.
How can I purchase tickets to the Frazier History Museum?
You can purchase tickets online or in person at the museum. The Frazier does not require reservations for general admission museum tickets.
Do active military personnel receive discounted admission?
Yes! With a valid ID all active military personnel receives a discounted rate on admission.
How long does it take to go through the Frazier Museum?
We recommend 2-3 hours to browse all the exhibits of the museum, but this varies for each guest. We recommend you visit our exhibitions page and decide for yourself how much time you need before buying tickets.
AT the Museum
Is the museum wheelchair-accessible?
All galleries and restrooms at the Frazier History Museum are wheelchair-accessible. You may request a wheelchair at the Admissions Desk at the time of your visit. Wheelchairs are complimentary and available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call (502) 753-5663.
Are baby strollers permitted at the Frazier History Museum?
Baby strollers are permitted at all times in all museum galleries.
Can I bring my camera?
Cameras are welcome at the Frazier History Museum. Still photography for personal use is permitted, unless otherwise designated. Please note, however, that the use of flash photography, video cameras, or tripods is not allowed without special permission. If you have questions about photography policies, please e-mail the Public Relations and Marketing Department.
Are chaperones required for people under 16 years old?
For safety reasons, we ask that children under the age of 16 be accompanied at all times by an adult 18 years of age or older.
What complementary services does the Frazier History Museum provide?
We provide a free coat and bag check for your convenience. Louisville Slugger bats and mini-bats and umbrellas must be checked before entering the museum. We also offer a variety of free engagements and tours at specific times.
Are food and drink allowed in museum galleries?
Food and drink are not allowed in the museum’s galleries. Food and drink are permitted and available for purchase in the Museum Store on the first floor, as well as in specially designated event spaces.
What is the Museum temperature?
To protect and preserve museum artifacts, the Frazier History Museum is kept at a constant temperature of 68 degrees. A light jacket or wrap is recommended for guests.
Is smoking allowed in the Frazier?
Smoking is prohibited at all times inside the Frazier History Museum, including in the Frazier’s Rooftop Garden.
Are there restrooms for Museum guests and are they wheelchair-accessible?
Restrooms are located on all floors of the Frazier History Museum. All restrooms are wheelchair-accessible and equipped with baby-changing stations. Drinking fountains are situated outside each restroom.
Is re-entry allowed?
You may exit the museum and return later in the day if you would like. Just remember to hold on to your receipt to present when you return.
