FAQs

What should we bring to camp?

We recommend that students bring a light jacket, sweatshirt or sweater, as the museum galleries can be chilly. Please pack a sack lunch for your child that contains two snacks and a drink, or a refillable water bottle (bottle-filling stations are located near our classroom and students have access to them whenever needed). Please be mindful of common allergens and avoid packing a lunch that contains peanuts or tree nuts. Backpacks are permitted but please be mindful of our limited storage space for student belongings. Please leave any toys, or electronics that could present a distraction at home. Children can bring a book for chill time but they are responsible for it.
If your child requires an Epi-pen or inhaler we will ask you to provide a labeled Epi-pen or inhaler for the week. Please note that we do not administer any other medication, but are more than happy to accommodate parents or guardians who would like to come to the museum to administer medications to their children if they are on a specific medication.

Any belongings left over from camp can be arranged to be picked up by calling (502) 753-5663 or emailing education@fraziermuseum.org.

Why don’t I see the camp I am interested in?

We strive to create original, unique camp content that you absolutely cannot find anywhere else, which takes a bit of time. Our summer camps are posted by the first week in February every year. Winter camps go up late October. Spring Break camps go up mid to late February.

If you would like to be the first to know about camps, please sign up for our email list!

Close to and during our camp seasons, we may take days or weeks off the website if a camp sells out. Email us to see if there’s any wiggle room!

What is the age range for campers?

We accept students in rising first grade (having completed kindergarten) through rising sixth grade. For camps that take place during the academic year, we do accept campers currently enrolled in kindergarten for our winter & spring break camps.

In many cases, we divide our camps up into two classes, one for first through third grade, one for fourth through sixth grade. Although campers do the majority of the same activities, they move together with their age group for most of their day.

How do dropoff and pickup work?

A parking lot is available directly behind the museum.  Please inform the parking lot attendant that you are picking up or dropping off for camp and they will allow you to park for that duration.

The museum’s front door will open at 8:45. We will have a sign in/out sheet waiting for you, so please bring/pick up your camper at the classroom each day.  We staff the entrance until 9:30, but if you are running late, please call (502) 753-5663, as we lock the doors again at that time.

What are your masking and health policies?

We will be working with state guidelines and best practices regarding masking and sanitization. Please note that if the JCPS School District is requiring masks at a given time, we will most likely be following their guidance and requiring them onsite as well.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel in writing up to two weeks prior to the start of camp by emailing education@fraziermuseum.org. Many times, registration is moveable to other weeks and that is the preferred option. Otherwise, a $50 cancellation fee is retained. Cancellations that occur less than two weeks prior to the first day a child is registered for camp are non-refundable.
