Lift Up Lou Project for Louisville Arts Network 2020
Textile blanket with assorted sewn fabric items
72” x 80”
I chose represent essential workers from around Louisville to show that they are what kept us going through the most challenging time of the decade. By reaching out to several people in the community, I was able to get items donated for my tapestry. The three day working time frame did not allow me to include all essential workers, but I hope that everyone can at least find one piece in which to relate. The Fleur de lis is the symbol of our city, and I felt it one of the most important parts of the design to incorporate as it makes us all a part of this work.
Display info on tapestry: has a 3” sewn loop across the top to accommodate a rod for hanging. Standard shower curtain length will reach.

At the beginning of quarantine, my friends and I decided to start writing letters to each other: "pen pals." Pictured are the supplies I use to write and decorate the letters I send, as well as the envelopes and letters I've received.
